Equifitt clients range in age from 3-83.  We have provided phys ed instruction in a Montessori setting, and currently run a sport night for children with disabilities, provide dryland training to elite young equestrian athletes, and train moms, seniors, business owners, marathon runners, and men and women from all walks of life right up to their early 80's.  All training, whether for sport, injury re-habilitation, weight-loss or active living is designed from a perspective of functional conditioning and core integration.  Effective movement patterns and functional strength help you avoid injury, enjoy life, and be your best at sport and play.

The Youngsters  Programs for children adhere to the Sport Canada Sport for Life guidelines described in the Long Term Athlete Development program.  Goals include developing athletic vocabulary and healthy life habits, corrective and preventive training for injury, age-appropriate sport conditioning and weight loss.  Equifitt also runs a weekly sport night for kids with autism and other disabilities in the Kemptville area.  Contact us to find out more.

Athletes & Weekend Warriors  Coaches everywhere agree that using your sport to keep you fit is a recipe for injury.  You get fit for your sport.  Whether you are seriously competitive like our Olympic athlete client, or just like to stay involved in your favourite activity, cross-training appropriate to your level will help you play better, and stay in the game or keep up with your life responsibilities by helping you avoid or recover from injury.  If you're busy, you don't have time to get sick or break down.

Middle Age & Mature  Age introduces specific physiological and mental changes which 'change the rules' on you.  What you used to be able to do to get in shape and stay there, just doesn't work the same.  Personal training plans help you integrate your fitness into your life, stay active and break free from old unhealthy habits and the diet/guilt yo-yo cycle.  Almost 50% of Equifitt clients are over 40, and 24% are over 50 years old.  If you're busy, you don't have time to get sick or break down.

    Personal Training Programs

    EQUIFITT personal training programs are use best practices in fitness training and sport conditioning so that your program is designed to meet you where you are at, help you set realistic goals and get the results you want. 

    Whether you're an athlete, or just want to be as active as you can be, personal training typically gets faster results.  While all programs include the four key fitness aspects (cardio-vascular ability, strength and core strength, flexibility and nutrition), you program will emphasise activities in line with your needs and goals, and without alot of expensive equipment.  Personal programs include:

    • Initial fitness assessment
    • Program design to match your fitness, wellness or sport performance goals
    • Food log monitoring and guidance (ongoing within sessions)
    • Personal Training sessions at a frequency that matches your budget, goals and training level (1-3 times per week, every two weeks, or occasionally; private or semi-private sessions are an option)
    • Re-analysis at 6-week intervals to assess your progress and reset your program (ongoing within sessions)
    • A copy of your program, food log and other relevant training and fitness information.

    Group Fitness

    Depending on availability, classes and workshops can be organized onsite at your facility, or offsite.
